The fine print

The terms of U Run Club · Last updated August 13, 2026

What this is

U Run Club is a free running community: a weekly email, a public training archive, and a Strava club. Everything in it is general education and information for adult recreational runners. It is not medical advice, physical therapy, or a substitute for advice from a professional who has actually examined you.

Who I am, and who I'm not

I'm Charles Hicks, a professional runner. I am not a doctor, a physical therapist, or a certified coach. The club shares my own training record and general guidance drawn from it, not an individualized program written for you.

Train at your own risk

Running is a physical activity and carries inherent risks, including injury and, rarely, serious medical events. By using the club's content you accept those risks and agree that your training decisions are your own. Start at or below your current volume, and when in doubt, round down.

Talk to a professional

Check with a physician before starting any exercise program, especially if you have a medical condition, an injury history, or a symptom that concerns you. If something hurts, back off and get it checked. Stop right away if you feel pain, dizziness, or shortness of breath beyond normal effort.

No guarantees

Training results vary from person to person. The numbers in the Log describe my training. They are a reference point for yours, never a target you owe anyone.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, U Run Club and Charles Hicks are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the club's content or your participation in any run or challenge connected to it.

Your email

Membership is a free email subscription, run through Kit. Unsubscribe any time with the link in any email. I don't sell your address. Ever.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the club grows. The current version always lives on this page.

That's the fine print. See you Monday.
